We caramelized the red onions in small batches for hours to produce the beautiful brown color that you see in the soup. No artificial caramel flavors or colors used here. To make this a great soup that everyone can enjoy, we use a veggie broth made from scratch in our kitchen. This is one of Nona's favorite soups.
